About this product

HMDA data is public but nearly unusable for multi-year analysis. The CFPB's 2018 format overhaul changed the census tract format and dozens of field definitions, making pre/post comparison require substantial normalization work. This product delivers a consistent schema across the full 2007–2024 span — one file, one format, 18 vintages reconciled.

RRA enrichment appends tract-level physical context unavailable in the raw HMDA file: median parcel composite score, median distress score, median flood risk score, SFHA prevalence, adjudicated parcel rate, ground subsidence rate (Caddo + Bossier), and ACS median household income. These fields let researchers ask whether denial rates correlate with physical risk exposure, or whether originations concentrate in lower-distress tracts.

Primary use cases: CRA self-assessment (community banks documenting lending coverage across their assessment area), fair housing analysis (denial rate disparities by tract and borrower characteristics), capital desert mapping for CDFIs, and academic research on lending geography.
